We often see these questions spread around in email chain letters or Facebook notes. I thought I’d take some time to answer them with serious consideration of my future goals.
a. Where do you see yourself in ten years? What do you look like?
Where are you living?
b. Where will you be, financially, in terms of your goals? Will you be
rich, or just debt-free?
c. How well off will you be in terms of material possessions (house,
d. What concrete things (awards, books, degrees) will you have to show
In ten years I will be living in my own home. I will, hopefully, be married with my own family. (Ok. This is scary already. Lol) I want to live in a city with plenty of access to public transportation, as this has been and continues to be a big source of stress for me currently. I will be at least 100 pounds lighter than I am now. (Scarier and scarier). Financially, I will likely have both a separate and joint account. In my separate account I will have enough money to afford gifts to both myself and my family. I envision a joint account to be used for household bills and expenditures. There will also be an account for the children to provide for their future, which I would like to be putting $17,000 in on a yearly basis. (Scariest of all). The tuition balance that is preventing me from finishing my bachelor’s degree right now will be paid off; and, I will have obtained my degree within ten years. I plan to be in a position where the family can take yearly vacations together; the children can participate in after-school activities; and, I will never have to feed Ramen noodles to my family. As for my career goals, I would like to have sold a script and published at least one book in the next ten years.
That was harder than I thought it would be. How would you answer these questions? Leave your responses in the comments!
